Sussex Police said officers were called to Sunningdale Court, in the Southgate area of Crawley, at around 1pm on Saturday following reports of a dog dangerously out of control.
Armed officers and neighbourhood policing teams attended the scene, where the Cane Corso breed dog was secured and assessed.
