A Hastings man has been sentenced after a TikTok stunt left his friend with a serious brain injury.
Connor Pace, 23, drove around a car park in Bexhill on 17 January with a friend riding on the bonnet of his Seat Leon.
The friend fell and suffered a traumatic brain injury, remaining unconscious for nearly a month and requiring multiple surgeries.
Pace, a bus driver, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Lewes Crown Court on 26 November.
He received a 16-month suspended prison sentence, a two-year driving ban, 300 hours of unpaid work, and must wear an electronic tag nightly for eight weeks.
Detective Constable David Symonds said the stunt was “mindless and irresponsible,” adding that it had changed both men’s lives forever.
