A Hastings man has been jailed after being stopped by police for erratic driving in St Leonards on 26 November.
Officers pulled over a black Volkswagen Golf and identified the driver as 41-year-old Petru Chira of Cambridge Road.
He failed a roadside breath test and was found to be driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition, with exposed, under-inflated tyres and a damaged wing mirror.
Chira also had no licence, MOT or insurance.
He pleaded guilty to all offences at Brighton Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, banned from driving for three years, and fined £154.
Police say the case highlights the risks and consequences of drink-driving, particularly during the festive season.
