Hundreds Of Thousands Celebrate 35 Years Of Brighton & Hove Pride

Brighton & Hove Pride has celebrated its 35th anniversary with one of its biggest events to date, attracting an estimated 300,000 spectators to the city's streets over the weekend.

This year's celebrations, held under the theme 'The Power of Love', saw more than 125 groups take part in the annual LGBTQ+ Community Parade on Saturday, with thousands turning out to celebrate diversity, inclusion and equality.

The colourful procession made its way through Brighton before the celebrations continued at Preston Park, where tens of thousands of festivalgoers enjoyed performances from an international line-up of artists.

Saturday's headline acts included Jessie J, Self Esteem, Leigh-Anne and RuPaul, while singer-songwriter RAYE closed the evening with a headline performance.

On Sunday, the festival continued with performances from Pale Waves, Caity Baser, Melanie C, Holly Johnson and Five, before music legend Diana Ross brought the event to a close with a set featuring hits including I'm Coming Out, Upside Down and You Can't Hurry Love.

Away from the main stage, Pride-goers were able to enjoy a wide range of entertainment across multiple areas of the festival, including cabaret, drag performances, family-friendly activities, dance music stages and community spaces.

Marine Parade was once again transformed into the popular Pride Street Party, with Brighton's LGBTQ+ venues hosting live music, DJs and entertainment throughout the weekend.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Proud Brighton – We Are Community, a portrait photography exhibition celebrating 35 years of Pride in Brighton & Hove, is now on display at Jubilee Library until 15 August, with additional images featured on banners across the city.

Organisers have hailed this year's event as a celebration of love, unity and community, with attention already turning to Brighton & Hove Pride 2027.
