Late-Night Rail Replacement Buses Between Lewes And Eastbourne Until Friday

Rail passengers travelling between Lewes and Eastbourne are being urged to check before they travel, with overnight engineering work continuing until Friday morning.

Network Rail is carrying out work on the line, meaning all rail services between Lewes and Eastbourne are replaced by buses from around 9pm each evening until the end of service.

The disruption affects services from Monday through to Thursday nights, with rail replacement buses operating instead of trains.

Passengers travelling from Eastbourne towards Lewes are advised that some replacement buses leave earlier than the trains they replace to allow connections with amended rail services at Lewes.

There are also changes to early morning services, with the 1.08am Haywards Heath to Eastbourne train not running from Tuesday to Friday.

A replacement bus is operating instead between Haywards Heath, Lewes and Eastbourne.

Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as replacement buses may be busier than usual.

Southern is encouraging customers to check their journey before travelling.
