A police dog helped officers uncover a hidden stash of drugs following a stop near Cowfold.
A car linked to suspected drug supply was pulled over on the A272 on 10 March, where officers initially found a small amount of cannabis.
However, after the vehicle was taken for further examination, police dog Jake indicated something unusual around the steering wheel.
Officers discovered the wheel had been tampered with, and after removing part of it, found a sock containing cannabis, cocaine and cash hidden inside.
The driver, a 32-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply drugs.
He later appeared at Lewes Crown Court, where he was jailed for 20 months and banned from driving for 14 months.
